Limousine

Like Charolais, also Limousine cattle was for the first time imported from Hungary, but the base for Czech Limousine population is from France too. At the beginning Hungarian bulls have been used in insemination in crossing, but regarding the fact that these bulls didn't fulfil expectations, the strict orientation only to French genetic sources brings the required results - better growing of calves and more meaty type. Regarding the lack of purebred heifers many breeders established their herds by crossing. Even the production of breeding bulls and heifers increasing each year, demand is still higher then offer.
