Gasconne

Gasconne, one of French rustical breed, was firstly imported into the Czech Republic in 1994 to Animal Research Institute in Prague. Afterwards other breeders imported Gasconne heifers also to the other part of the Czech Republic. Considering origin and breeding system in France, also in our country are Gasconne animals breed in hard conditions in mountain regions. In our country is also popular for crossing with dairy cattle. Even Gasconne is rather extensive beef breeds, pure-bred animals as well their crossbreds show good results in intensive fattening. A short breeding base is a limit for bigger expansion, therefore embryostransfer is recommended.
