Piemontese

In 1991 imported heifers from Denmark established the first herds of Piemontese cattle in the Czech Republic. Afterwards importation only from country of origin, and in one case also from Germany, have been realised. Many of Piemontese herds are in Moravia. Exceptional meat quality predetermine the main orientation of this breed in our conditions: commercial crossing with dairy and dual-propose cattle, but with other beef breeds too. Therefore the interest in breeding bulls in high, but short breeding base is limited factor for production of breeding animals. Co-operation with Italian organisation ANABORAPI brings good results and hence one can expect wider offer of breeding material in our market.
